Technical Outreach Editor

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is looking for a Technical Outreach Editor who has a solid understanding of the current technology space to create and edit technical content for its US corporate and industry communications efforts.

This position requires proactive and reactive content creation and editing. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of the Wolfram Language, Mathematica and Wolfram|Alpha. Strong organization, communication, project management and copywriting skills are essential. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, distributed-team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing, editing and creating content for web articles, prioritizing specific requests and remaining active in subject areas
  • Providing support for additional online efforts, including Wolfram-specific content creation
  • Using gained editing knowledge to positively impact other collaborative virtual media, such as Reddit, Quora and other online forums as appropriate
  • Providing team support for blog-content dissemination through additional outlets
  • Supporting upper management through research projects and side assignments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics or a related technical or quantitative field
  • Experience with the Wolfram Language, Mathematica or other technical software
  • Working knowledge of the current technology space
  • Exceptional technical or scientific writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with distributed teams
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to distill complex technical information for distribution to a less technical audience
  • Prior experience writing and distributing technical content through online interaction channels
