Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, has an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join its HR department. This individual will support the HR Manager in Wolfram’s fast-paced environment. How you’ll spend your days

  • Processing payroll, which includes ensuring PTO is tracked in our systems
  • Creating all new employee/consultant records in payroll systems
  • Answering payroll questions
  • Maintaining accurate records and updates on salary increases and status changes in payroll systems
  • Helping conduct all new-hire orientations
  • Maintaining HR records and assisting the HR Manager with related reporting
  • Initially responding to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints
  • Partnering with employees and management to communicate various HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations

What Wolfram is looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an HR role
  • Experience with payroll administration
  • Exceptional verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Other business systems experience (e.g. content management databases)
  • The ability to handle yourself in a professional and unbiased manner in situations requiring discretion and confidentiality
  • The ability to handle multiple/changing tasks, priorities and deadlines
  • Must have a strong attention to detail
  • A high level of motivation and an approachable, can-do attitude
  • A strong desire to learn and grow along with the organization

Location: Champaign, Illinois (this position does not allow remote work)
