Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join its Cloud Development department. As a Software Engineer on the Wolfram Cloud team, you will be responsible for working on the development of our JavaScript-based notebook interface.

  • Maintaining and extending JavaScript code implementing our notebook interface
  • Maintaining and extending Java code implementing our server-side notebook model
  • Researching and identifying potential new technologies and making recommendations to the team
  • Helping with our continuous build and deployment process
  • Working closely with the team and communicating with efficiency and accuracy


  • Must be experienced in web development with JavaScript and HTML
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics or a related technical or quantitative field, is a plus
  • Experience with a JavaScript framework, such as React, is a plus
  • Experience with the Wolfram Language, is a plus
  • Experience with Java, is a plus
  • Experience with source control systems such as Git, is a plus
  • Experience using project tracking tools such as Jira, is a plus
