Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is looking for an experienced Director of Finance to direct and oversee the financial activities of the company, provide current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts.

The successful candidate will be a reliable professional with broad knowledge of all accounting, financial and business principles. This position requires an honest, smart strategic thinker and effective leader who can use good judgment and assist the company in making the most profitable decisions. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain full integrity of all revenues, ensuring organization policies and procedures as well as state, federal, and international (as applicable) laws and regulations are followed
  • Oversee and lead the accounting and finance staff
  • Monitor cash flow and financial transactions
  • Direct the preparation of financial statements, tax returns and governmental agency reports, assisting where necessary
  • Ensure the accurate setup of the company’s finance IT systems
  • Work with the database team to provide relevant and accurate management reports
  • Oversee all external audit and internal control operations
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks
  • Conduct analysis to make forecasts
  • Maintain corporate banking relationships on behalf of the company
  • Manage the corporate insurance program

Requirements

  • Eight to 10 years of experience in accounting/financial management
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
  • Solid knowledge of accounting software, corporate principals and financial analysis
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
  • Analytical mind with a strategic ability
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • International exposure
  • BSc/BA in accounting, finance or a relevant field
  • CPA or other relevant qualification
  • Previous experience in public accounting is a plus
