Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is seeking a passionate Japanese Social Media Intern to join our Document and Media Systems department. This will be a part-time internship with up to 15 hours per week.

This intern will focus on distributing company messaging through traditional, social and emerging media; increasing awareness of the Wolfram brands in Japan; and encouraging the use of Wolfram products. This intern will provide Japanese social media support by bringing in a diverse perspective on current and future content creation and engagement and by working to increase the quantity and variety of posts and the number of impressions and link clicks.

Responsibilities

  • Translating posts created by our Public Relations team into Japanese
  • Staying up-to-date with science and education trends in Japan
  • Creating posts to introduce Wolfram technology to a Japanese audience
  • Coordinating with other teams to announce events to Wolfram’s social network 
  • Increasing Japanese followers on Wolfram’s social media platforms

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Japanese and English
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative
  • The ability to multitask and stay organized
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Open-mindedness, the ability to learn quickly, adaptability and creativity
  • An understanding of or a background in a science- and/or mathematics-related field
  • Familiarity with Mathematica and the Wolfram Language is a plus
  • Interest or experience in marketing, communications and social media in the tech sector
  • In-depth knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Tumblr as both a user and a marketer
  • An understanding of how to capitalize on audience engagement
