Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is searching for a proactive individual with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills for a new Project Manager position at Wolfram Research. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning and coordinating development for the Deployed Products and Services group, which is responsible for the Wolfram Resource System, including the Wolfram Data Repository, Wolfram Function Repository, and other repositories under development. This position requires project management experience with software development, strong organization and communication skills, and the ability to interface with our technical and product development teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment and has an enthusiasm for new technologies.


  • Assisting project leads in creating and maintaining project plans
  • Proactively managing the execution of project plans for multiple projects
  • Creating and maintaining roadmaps with input from project stakeholders
  • Helping create and maintain requirement lists
  • Monitoring the status, risks, and resources for the entire lifecycle of projects
  • Creating and maintaining tickets with appropriate deadlines and details needed to execute tasks
  • Planning development sprints with the team
  • Maintaining projects pages and dashboards
  • Identifying, conveying, and tracking project milestones
  • Preparing agendas for meetings and leading the meetings as needed
  • Taking meeting notes and following through or communicating action items
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams within the company


  • Experience in software or web project management
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytic skills
  • Ability to interact with cross-functional teams (for example, user experience, design, web, technical content, quality assurance, support, and product development teams)
  • High degree of initiative
  • High degree of computer and technological literacy
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with Project Management software or processes is a plus
  • Experience with Mathematica or the Wolfram Language is a plus
